I Miss The Mountains ...

... a lot

Night Photography in the Snow

These were a couple of the shots I took in Wyoming at night while the snow was falling.
We got about 6-7 inches and it stuck to every tree limb. Beautiful ...
A White Christmas!

More and More

I recently ran across this image.
I like it more now than when I took it.
So I am posting it.

Washington DC Christmas II

Festival of Lights at the Mormon Temple, 450,000 lights.
If you haven't seen it, you should definitely go.
They also have performances every night at 7 & 8.
You can go thru December 30th.
There was a little short guy taking who showed up to get a picture just as I was leaving. He took the picture and then loudly exclaimed, "Oh, wow! Hey that looks pretty good!" I just laughed.

Washington DC Christmas

The National Christmas tree is surrounded by many smaller trees-one for each of the States, and Territories. They have round balls containing decorations inside from various groups from each state. My favorite was TN - with the flowers painted on the ball, it looked like pressed flowers. Interestingly enough the tree is there all year round--it is not a cut tree, but is planted. Somehow I never manage to notice it, except at Christmas ... I wonder why? A tree that large and a pine tree at that? Don't ask me. It gets a lot of attention this time of year though.

Redskins vs Bears 12.6.07

My first NFL game. Bears vs Redskins (Redskins won, unfortunately). Temperature near 24 degrees. I will say this, I am not what I would consider a huge "sports fan" but this--this was worth the experience. I can see why people could really get into the sport when you see it for real. It brings a whole new level of excitement. Oh and the third picture was the insane fan that rushed the field and was immediately tackled by security-crazy.

Utah

More images from my trip to Utah. We spent four hours yesterday raking and bagging all the leaves in our yard. We ended up with about 40 (30 gallon-size) bags of leaves. If you were wondering I am sore today. And the countdown to the Holidays has begun. I love this time of year.
