Big Game

It was late when we were driving back home and saw the mother moose with her two babies.   We had seen two moose earlier that day, but they were so far away in comparison.  They are a little bit fuzzy as I was hand-holding at 0.6 seconds at f/5.6 ISO 1600.

These bull elk still had the velvet on their antlers ... and they were close enough we could see them really well.

Yes -- it is a bear -- a black bear.  We were so lucky!  I have been going to Yellowstone every year for as long as I can remember and have only seen a bear twice - maybe three times.  Here he is though and he was close too.

A baby buffalo - tiny in comparison - they look slightly similar to a baby calf at this age actually.
Yes - that arrow way back there - it is a Grizzly Bear, at least it is where the grizzly was.  I didn't get a picture until he had already disappeared into the trees.  Not only did we already see a brown bear,  we also saw a grizzly - of course you had to have either a spotting scope or good binoculars to see him, but I saw him.  Of course we saw lots of pesky chipmunks too.

Teton National Park

I love the mountains.  You know how nature has a way of soothing the soul ... the mountains especially do this for me.  Beautiful.

The Most Beautiful Place May 08

Click on images to see the bigger, better version ...

Ah!  Spring in the most beautiful place!  It was a little cold, but I love it when their is snow on the mountains and lush new green everywhere else.  And the double rainbow - I got soaking wet getting my shot, but it was so pretty.  I have many more pictures to post as the trip also included the Tetons & Yellowstone.

San Francisco 2008

I am finally getting around to posting a few more pictures from San Francisco!  I have been busy.  I went to visit my best friend there and I took a couple pictures of her little cutie.  She is such a good baby and she thinks I am funny!  We took pictures in that amazing rose garden that was in FULL bloom.  We stopped in to see the Camera Obscura.  Which was really quite amazing and different than I expected.  The clarity of the displayed image is really stunning.   It was an absolutely wonderful trip that went by much too fast.

Anne & Gus

We ended up leaving the gardens a little late, but it was totally worth it for this last shot.  The sunset, the fountain - it all just came together.  It was a very fun shoot!

Air Show - Blue Angels

Click on this to view at 100% crop - you can see the pilots.  There are 4 planes in this picture - the are just flying really close to each other.

After the air show we took a little walk in DC.  This is the newest museum - the Newseum.  I still have not been inside, but eventually I will.  I want to see the Pulitzer Prize Photo Gallery
