It was late when we were driving back home and saw the mother moose with her two babies. We had seen two moose earlier that day, but they were so far away in comparison. They are a little bit fuzzy as I was hand-holding at 0.6 seconds at f/5.6 ISO 1600.
These bull elk still had the velvet on their antlers ... and they were close enough we could see them really well.
Yes -- it is a bear -- a black bear. We were so lucky! I have been going to Yellowstone every year for as long as I can remember and have only seen a bear twice - maybe three times. Here he is though and he was close too.
A baby buffalo - tiny in comparison - they look slightly similar to a baby calf at this age actually.
Yes - that arrow way back there - it is a Grizzly Bear, at least it is where the grizzly was. I didn't get a picture until he had already disappeared into the trees. Not only did we already see a brown bear, we also saw a grizzly - of course you had to have either a spotting scope or good binoculars to see him, but I saw him. Of course we saw lots of pesky chipmunks too.
